Bleeding Violet

Bleeding Violet by Dia Reeves
rating 8/10

Love can be a dangerous thing....

Hanna simply wants to be loved. With a head plagued by hallucinations, a medicine cabinet full of pills, and a closet stuffed with frilly, violet dresses, Hanna's tired of being the outcast, the weird girl, the freak. So she runs away to Portero, Texas in search of a new home.

But Portero is a stranger town than Hanna expects. As she tries to make a place for herself, she discovers dark secrets that would terrify any normal soul. Good thing for Hanna, she's far from normal. As this crazy girl meets an even crazier town, only two things are certain: Anything can happen and no one is safe.

I think one word sums up this whole book:

crazy

No, no. Scratch that:

Insane

Dia Reeves created a beautiful world of just that: craziness.

The book was so friggin weird I can't even tell you if I really liked it or not. At times I was so into it and loved it and other I was like: WTF was that?

But, if I did have to decide, I think overall I did like it. It was so addicting! I couldn't put it down, and I had to know everything; How would everything turn out, what was going to happen, so on and so forth.

I loved the writing in this, and the way this whole new world was created was amazing. How anyone could come up with something like this is beyond me, and I certainly look forward to reading more of Reeve's books and seeing what else she can come of with

  4. I had this one this week and tried to read it but it got so weird once she started school that I just decided to put it down. I have SO many books to read I didn't want to waste time on a book that was really weirding me out. But I was curious about what others thought of it so I was happy to read your review and know that it IS weird and it wasn't just the beginning. I may pick it up again someday but for now I'm going to send it back to the library.
